CAMDENTON, MO, AUGUST 22, 2016 – Ballpark Development LLC, a privately owned entity, announced today that they have broken ground on a multi-million dollar baseball facility located in the heart of Camden County.

The groundbreaking ceremony will be held on Wednesday, September 21st at 11am in conjunction with the Camden County Commissioner’s office, the Lake of the Ozarks Convention and Visitors Bureau, all three local Chambers of Commerce, and numerous local community officials.

“Ballparks of the Ozarks will be a great benefit to the 2nd District and Macks Creek in particular,” said Camden County 2nd District Commissioner Cliff Luber. “It has been a privilege to have worked closely with them over the last two years as the 2nd District Commissioner to assist them in making their vision a reality.”

The project construction will be overseen by several companies with decades of experience working in the Lake of the Ozarks area.  Kissick Construction headquartered in Kansas City, Mo will be the General Contractor on the project.  Well-known Lake of the Ozarks based Thomas Construction will be the General Contractor over the construction of the facility field house and restrooms.  Rounding out the development team is Spoonball Sports, which will oversee the installation of the athletic fields and the civil engineer and designer of the complex, Olsson Associates.

“Kissick Construction Co. is very proud to be part of this unique development,” said President of Kissick Construction Jim Kissick.  “This project will add another dimension to the vacation and resort reputation of the Lake of the Ozarks.”

“Thomas Construction is excited to be a part of the Ballpark of the Ozarks,” said President of Thomas Construction Jim Nugent.   “This ballpark will bring more people to the lake area and create many more jobs for years to come. Our team will be working hard to make this project a success.”

The Ballparks of the Ozarks will host both three-day and weeklong tournaments for teams from around the country. The state of the art facility will feature age appropriate fields, which will include turf infields, pitching bullpens, batting cages, LED lighting, and unique seating for the patrons.   The facility is expected to be open for play in 2017.

“We have found the perfect marriage between resort destination and baseball facility that balances the highest level of competitive opportunity and fun for the entire family, at an affordable price,” said Ballparks of the Ozarks COO Bob Ramsey.

“We have an amazing development team and we have been completely embraced by the local community during this entire process,” said Ballparks of the Ozarks CEO Jeff Vernetti.  “We are thrilled for the opportunity to bring over 100 jobs and thousands of families to the Lake area annually.”
